THE 10 STEPS TOWARDS CLAIMING OUR INHERITANCE (continued)

These 10 steps towards our inheritance are set out to help give an understanding of how God works in and through our lives. We can then become more aware of where we have been, where we are now and where it is likely we will be heading in the future, if we choose to be obedient to Him. THEY ARE NOT A DOGMATIC LIST OF THE 10 MAGIC STEPS TO BE TAKEN TO CLAIM THE HIGHEST PLACE IN HEAVEN!

The Lord is in control and He will

a. Place His hand individually upon each one of us as He chooses, at His timing and under His conditions.

b. Take us back down the steps, if we choose to be disobedient to Him.

What is being illustrated here is a pattern that emerges from the pages of the Bible, which at His choice, the Lord often uses to mature us towards becoming ...sons of God' (Romans 8:14)

Once again, please check out the Scriptures for yourself.

A reminder of last week's conclusion.

THE LORDSHIP OF JESUS OVER OUR LIVES IS MADE POSSIBLE BY GOD'S GRACE THROUGH * THE BLOOD OF JESUS TO CLEANSE US (Part 1) * THE PROVISION OF HIS HOLY SPIRIT TO GUIDE US (Part 2) To which our response is to be * THE TOTAL SURRENDER OF OUR LIVES

As contained in our key verse.

Revelation 12:11

SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT

Spiritual development, both for the individual and the church as a whole, is to follow the God ordained pattern.

Many have attempted to short circuit the necessary steps, or place them in a different order. But this is doomed to failure. For things must be done God's way in order to be successful.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

EVERY STEP WE TAKE IS ONLY POSSIBLE THROUGH GOD'S GRACE

Step 1: SALVATION.

It is only by coming into a personal relationship with Jesus that we can truly commence our Christian journey, our walk with Jesus.

John 3:3

Step 2: SPIRIT.

Unless we embrace the fullness of the Holy Spirit to teach and guide us, we cannot progress further in our walk. For it is impossible on our own. Many have tried by personal willpower to live the Christian life, but inevitably, it leads to grief and disappointment.

John 14:25-6

Step 3: SUBMISSION.

Through the saving grace of Jesus and the instruction of the Holy Spirit, we progressively learn how to submit our will to that of the Father's will for us. This is a life long process, to change us into the image of Jesus.

James 4:6-10

CHURCH DEVELOPMENT

1. TRADITIONAL and EVANGELICAL CHURCHES

Based on the foundation of the 'blood of Jesus'.

2. PENTECOSTAL and CHARISMATIC CHURCHES

Add the empowering of the Holy Spirit.

3. END AGE CHURCH TO COME

In full submission to the will of the Father.

TO ASPIRE TO THE LORDSHIP OF JESUS IN OUR OWN LIFE (AND IN THAT OF THE CHURCH) WE MUST BE 1. SAVED (THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS) 2. EMPOWERED BY THE RELEASE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WITHIN US 3. IN RETURN BE FULLY SUBMISSIVE IN OUR LIVES

FOR SUCCESS, ALL 3 STEPS MUST BE UNDERTAKEN, AND IN THE CORRECT ORDER.

STEP 3 - HOLINESS

THE SECRET OF HOLINESS

1. HOLINESS

We are called to holy living.

2 Timothy 2:20-1

2. HOLINESS IS GOD GIVEN

Through the death of Jesus.

Colossians 1:21-2

3. THROUGH GOD'S GRACE

We cannot 'earn' holiness.

2 Corinthians 12:9

4. MAN DRIVEN

Holiness requires action on our part.

Romans 6:22

5. SUBMISSION OF WILL (LORDSHIP)

We must become 'slaves' to God, giving Him lordship over our lives.

Romans 6:18-19

HOLINESS IS GOD'S REWARD FOR THE TOTAL SUBMISSION OF OUR LIVES TO HIM, RESULTING IN FULL ACCEPTANCE AS BROATHERS (AND SISTERS) OF CHRIST.

Hebrews 2:11

THE FOOTHILLS OR THE MOUNTAIN TOP - THE CHOICE IS OURS!

Where will your Christian walk take you?

Will you remain in the foothills?

Obadiah 1:19-20

Or will you ascend to the mountain tops?

Obadiah 1:21, Ezekiel 20:40-45

Will you be content to walk in the foothills or do you wish to scale the heights of the holy mountain of the Lord. This is God's requirement of us in the last days.

Isaiah 2:2-3

THE CALL TO HOLINESS, TO CLIMB TO THE MOUNTAIN TOP, BOTH INDIVIDUALLY AND FOR THE CHURCH AS A WHOLE, IS THE CHALLENGE FACING EACH ONE OF US TODAY. WHERE DO YOU STAND?

GOD AND MAN continues...

....as we take a more detailed look at the goal of our walk with Jesus, that is, 'holiness'.

A NOTE FROM DAVID

Today, more than ever, God is calling His people to walk to the mountain tops. Why? Because He is desiring to build His end time church, His bride, ready for the return of Jesus.

Are you, am I, prepared to make the necessary sacrifice of committing our lives 100% to Jesus?

HEROD'S TEMPLE - The Inner Courts

The Court of the Women was not exclusive to women. It was called this because this was as far within the Temple as women were permitted to enter. The court was surrounded by colonnades. Along the walls there were thirteen jars which served as recepticals for various offerings.

Worshipers would come in and drop their offering into one of the jars. It was in such a manner that Jesus and His disciples would have watched the poor widow bringing her offering into the Temple (Mark 12:43).

On the west side of the Court of Women were 15 steps that led up to the Nicanor Gate, also made of Corinthian Brass. This gate led into the inner courtyard of the Temple.

The inner courts were made up of the Court of the Men, the Court of the Levites, and the Court of the Priests. Within the Court of the Priests there were the Altar and the Laver.

The altar was made of rough, unhewn stones. It stood 15 feet high and was surrounded by a raised platform so that the priests could reach its surface. In contrast to the Altar of Incense within the Temple, this altar was used for sacrificing animals.

The Laver was an immense brass bowl of water supported by the statues of 12 lions. It was drained every evening and refilled each morning. It was also known as the "sea." This is significant when we read in Revelation 4:5 of the Throne of God, the elders and a sea of glass like crystal.

Twelve more steps led up to the Temple itself. Two great columns flanked the doors leading into the Temple. Only the priests were permitted through these doors and only at the appropriate times.

So until next week.......
MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOU BLESS GOD!
