THE 10 STEPS TOWARDS CLAIMING OUR INHERITANCE (continued)

These 10 steps towards our inheritance are set out to help give an understanding of how God works in and through our lives. We can then become more aware of where we have been, where we are now and where it is likely we will be heading in the future, if we choose to be obedient to Him. THEY ARE NOT A DOGMATIC LIST OF THE 10 MAGIC STEPS TO BE TAKEN TO CLAIM THE HIGHEST PLACE IN HEAVEN!

The Lord is in control and He will

a. Place His hand individually upon each one of us as He chooses, at His timing and under His conditions.

b. Take us back down the steps, if we choose to be disobedient to Him.

What is being illustrated here is a pattern that emerges from the pages of the Bible, which at His choice, the Lord often uses to mature us towards becoming ...sons of God' (Romans 8:14)

Now for steps 3 and 4.

3. HOLY SPIRIT RELEASE (Infilling or Baptism)

Fully dealt with earlier in our study. In our study on Moses, this release, empowering, second touch or baptism of the Holy Spirit is of extreme importance to God.

HOLY SPIRIT RELEASE IN OUR LIFE IS A NECESSARY PREREQUISITE FOR US TO MOVE FORWARD IN CHRIST TOWARDS CLAIMING OUR INHERITANCE.

4. GROUNDING IN THE FAITH

Q. How do we make a friend?
A. By;
1. Gaining understanding of our friend through communication.
2. Learning to meet our friend's needs.

Q. How do we build a relationship with God?
A. By;
1. Gaining an understanding of God through the Bible.
2. Doing what He tells us to do in the Bible.

1. Gaining an Understanding of God Through the Bible

Jesus is the Word.

John 1:1-2

The Word came to earth.

John 1:14

* Jesus was/is God.
* By learning about Jesus we learn about God.

John 1:18

* Scripture teaches us about God. (is God breathed)
* Scripture trains us in righteousness. (to be pleasing to God)

2 Timothy 3:16-17

2. Doing What He Tells Us to Do in the Bible

* Learning must be accompanied by belief and action.

John 5:24, 2 Timothy 3:7

* Understanding comes from God, not from human wisdom.

Application stemming from understanding therefore, must also be the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, and not from our own strength.

1 Corinthians 2:12

TO LEARN ABOUT GOD WE MUST STUDY THE BIBLE. UNDERSTANDING OF GOD HOWEVER, COMES ONLY FROM HIS HOLY SPIRIT LIVING IN US, REVEALING GOD TO US THROUGH OUR LEARNING.

NEXT WEEK: GOD AND MAN continues...

... as we look towards the next two steps in claiming our inheritance.

A NOTE FROM DAVID

Application is everything! To truly believe we must live out our faith!

May this be our walk today.

Temple Mount:

The Temple Mount compound, which occupies about a sixth of the territory of the Old City, is sacred to the two monotheistic religions: Judaism and Islam. The mountain is identified with the place where Isaac was sacrificed. It is here that the first and second temples were built. After the destruction of the second temple, the mountain remained desolate until the Moslem conquest in the year 638. The Muslims have constructed various sites on the mountain. Some of the more famous ones are: the gilded Dome of the Rock and El-Aqsa Mosque.

FROM KIDRON VALLEY
Often visitors wonder why the Temple Mount isn't the highest point in the city when the Bible seems to describe it as such. The answer is that the city today (including the "Old City") has grown and shifted from its original location. The earliest city of Jerusalem is the "City of David," a smaller hill south of, and lower than, the Temple Mount.

So until next week.......
MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOU BLESS GOD!
