EXPLANATION OF THE POWER OF THREE.

PART 1 THE CHURCH

The Table should be self-explanatory to a believer who knows the Word. However, here is a little more explanation to help your understanding.

THE CHURCH

The church, particularly since the Reformation, has developed in an orderly fashion. It started off with the truth of salvation through grace, not works. Many churches have remained at this truth today. So we call them TRADITIONAL churches

Other churches have embraced the power of the Holy Spirit as a second touch, or baptism, which we know as PENTECOSTAL or CHARISMATIC churches.

The final church, not in buildings, is the KINGDOM or TABERNACLE church, the accumulation of those fully sold out believers worldwide, some within and some outside the church as we know it, for whom the Lord is returning.

The CHURCH table sets out the behaviours of each church type using the threes that are found in the Scriptures. This table doesn’t is not fully comprehensive and you mob be able to think of other ‘3’s that are not included.

THE FEASTS OF THE LORD The first two Feasts have already been fulfilled, Passover, by Jesus, our sacrifice on the cross, the Passover Lamb sacrificed with the blood being sprinkled on the doorposts just before the Israelites left from their 400 year captivity in Egypt.

Pentecost was first experienced by Moses, 50 days after leaving Egypt on Mt Sinai, when God gave him the Law, including the 10Commamdments. The Day of Pentecost, 50 days after Jesus died, was experienced in the house where the discipled had gathered wondering what would happen next. The experience of being filled with the power of the Holy Spirit was the answer. It transformed them from doubters to full on disciples.

The Feast of Tabernacles in not so well understood as it has not been fulfilled yet, and won’t be fully until the return of Jesus. However, as the kingdom resides in us, there is a progressive fulfilment day by day, by those disciples who want more of Jesus, and are fully sold out to Him. The Kingdom Faith Based Hospital is our attempt to show people here in Kenya, the love of Jesus in a practical way.

MOSES TABERNACLE is most interesting in that it illustrated the pattern of development of both the church and the individual, thousands of years ago, when it was built in the desert during the time of the 40 years the Jews spent in the desert. It was a punishment for a lack of faith, before entering the Promised Land. To me, is Moses Tabernacle is the most fascinating and important event in the Old Testament, and one that God described in great detail to Moses. It is a perfect description of the development of the church and the individual, as we live our lives for Jesus.

THE OVERCOMERS, based on Revelation 12:11, is the reason I am writing to you today! I was working, weeding beds of freesias on our flower farm, when the Lord stopped me and talked to me in an audible voice, telling me He wished me to build His ministry upon the this verse! He explained to me the meaning of the verse and asked me to start His Walking With Jesus Ministries based upon it. The verse talks about overcoming satan. So the 3 parts of the verse describe the progression of both the church, and our individual lives, if we desire to seek more of Him. On a church basis, the ‘blood of the lamb’ obviously stands for Jesus. Hence we have churches based on this revelation. The ‘word our testimony’ is a little more tricky. Our testimony comes out of our mouth, but what we say comes from our heart, the seat of the Holy Spirit. These 2 parts are well known by the Pentecostal church, for this is the revelation they have. Jesus plus the Spirit. However, the third part of the verse is required to be fulfilled, if we wish to overcome satan. ‘They loved not their lives so much as to shrink from death’! Of course this refers to physical martyrs, but also those of us who are still alive who are prepared to sacrifice all we have and are for Jesus. This is more difficult than being shot with a gun!

PARABLE OF THE SOWER. Most people concentrate on the types of ground the seed falls upon. While this is important, and Jesus explains it, the harvest is vital also. Not all believers produce the same fruit. The crop, 30, 60 or 100 fold, speaks of the value of our life in Jesus. Believing in Jesus enables you to produce a 30 fold crop. Add the Holy Spirit and potentially this can expand to 60 fold as the Holy Spirit teaches and guides us through our life. The 100 fold crop generated when we folly commit our life to the Fathers will, is the final and most desirable crop in the sight of our God.

THE LOVE CHAPTER. Traditional churches are based upon the hope of salvation of Jesus. Increased faith added by the Holy Spirit enables as to grow spiritually and practically, if we are prepared to do so. Kingdom/Tabernacle 100% commitment enables us to truly act in God’s love, in our own lives and reflected to others.

Please remember Kingdom is not found in any church, irrespective of their name. For it is grown through a personal relationship between yourself and your precious Father. The kingdom lives in the individual, not a group.

I hope this will help give you a better understanding of the development of the church prophesied thousands of years ago and reinforced when our precious Jesus lived amongst us.

BOOK OF THE WEEK

When asking the Lord what He wanted me to write about next, He has led me to look at HIS CHURCH, not in the way of standard church history, but from His viewpoint. I will try my best to be obedient to His wishes. But any errors will be mine! As you will soon see, the history of His church revolves around the Holy Spirit, and the Spirit's activity upon the earth, rather than what we consider the church to be. Before I start I must give you a little personal testimony. I hope my testimony will show you that what is to come has to be of God, for it is outside my personal nature, experience and inheritance. I was brought up in a traditional Baptist church in the 1950's and 60's. (Yes I am that old! On the outside but not the inside! Well.....) My grandparents on both sides of the family were traditional churchgoers, as were my parents, as is my sister, and most have been active in church leadership. I was brought up to believe, yes, it was ingrained deep within me, that one had it all, when you gave your heart to Jesus and were water baptized (on the Baptist side) or attended church (on the Presbyterian side). I tried giving my heart to Jesus. Nothing happened. My (younger than me) sister was getting water baptized, so I decided to as well. Nothing happened. I attended church until I was 30ish, and to all, including my wife Kathy, was a reasonable Christian. In fact, a pastor of mine suggested I should go to Baptist College and train for the ministry! If only he had known what was inside of me! During my time at university, I went with some friends to an AOG Pentecostal meeting, hated it, and vowed and declared I would never go back! I didn't. After a disagreement with the church, I left and went into the world, where I remained until I was 42, when we went bankrupt. At that time I was truly 5 desperate, not being able to look after my family, so truly gave my heart to Jesus when waiting in the queue to register for the dole (Unemployment Benefit) at the Social Welfare Office in Takapuna, Auckland, where we were living at the time. Over my time away from the church, Kathy got involved with the things of the Spirit. Didn't like it, but couldn't really complain, could I? After my true conversion, we went back to a traditional Baptist church. Kathy did a Holy Spirit course at another church also. I could not understand the notes and ridiculed them. Not a good move! For the next year the Lord told me to go and do the course! Had to eat humble pie! Over that year of doing the 'Word of Life' course, I came into the things of the Holy Spirit, which changed my life. We eventually joined the Abundant Life Church, where we remained until the Lord took us away from Tauranga to the city of Napier, where we now live. In Tauranga, while working in the fields attending to the flowers on our flower farm, the Lord, in an audible voice, called me to set up Walking With Jesus Ministries, to be based on Revelation 12:11, one of the results of which you are reading now. 11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. (Revelation 12:11) (Emphasis added, as the Lord gave it to me.) I do not want to go into now all the things the Lord has done. I just want to say that I now do my best to follow the leading of the Lord, through His precious Holy Spirit residing in me. (And in you too, if you truly believe.) What follows will be a real test of this, for as you can see from the above, it is far outside my natural nature and inheritance, to understand the ways of the Spirit. May the Lord help me as I endeavour to bring His revelation to you.

89. Practice Makes Perfect

A little girl was sitting on her grandfather's lap as he read her a bedtime story.

From time to time, she would take her eyes off the book and reach up to touch his

wrinkled cheek. She was alternately stroking her own cheek, then his again. 

Finally she spoke up, "Grandpa, did God make you?"

"Yes, sweetheart," he answered, "God made me a long time ago."

90. Fundraising

There is the story of a pastor who got up one Sunday and announced to his congregation: "I have good news and bad news. The good news is, we have enough money to pay for our new building program. The bad news is, it's still out there in your pockets."

91. Wise Advice

While driving in Pennsylvania, a family caught up to an Amish carriage. The owner of the carriage obviously had a sense of humour, because attached to the back of the carriage was a hand printed sign... "Energy efficient vehicle. Runs on oats and grass - Caution: Do not step in exhaust."
